Soon, Instagram enthusiasts will be able to take their pictures to a new platform — their shoes.Adidas has just announced the release of a new application that will allow users to customize their sneakers with their own Instagram photos. The Adidas Photo Print App will allow customers to personalize their Adidas ZX Flux shoes and is set to launch in August 2014 for iOS and Android devices.

Now, customers can walk around with their favorite Instagram pictures on their shoes for everyone to see. Any recent photo uploaded onto Instagram will be able to be transformed into a personal fashion statement on Adidas ZX Flux shoes. The Photo Print App will take personalization to a level we have yet to see in the athletic shoe market.Websites like SneakerNews.com have compared the shoes to the Nike Roshe, asking “is the Adidas ZX Flux this year’s Nike Roshe?” Both shoes have a modern, minimalistic aesthetic and a relatively low price tag. The Nike Roshe start at about $70 and the Adidas ZX Flux begin at $85. It is still unclear how Adidas will compete with the popularity of the Nike Roshe in the upcoming year, but their innovative new application gives them a creative advantage that is sure to appeal to many shoppers.
